Oman is one of the most attractive travel destinations in the Middle East located on the southeast corner of the Arabian Peninsula with a coastline of 1,700km from the Strait of Hormuz in the north, to the borders of the Republic of Yemen in the South.Known for its traditional hospitality, Oman makes you feel right at home from the time you arrive, until the moment you leave. The local Omanis are very friendly and always willing to help. English is widely spoken although sometimes on a very basic form.Oman has a rich history dating back 100,000 years. Oman is the oldest independent state in the Arab world. By the 18th century, the Omani Empire stretched from present day Oman down the east coast of Africa. A new era began in 1970 when late Sultan Qaboos bin Said changed the name of the country from the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman to simply Oman.

Day1: Arrival in Muscat – Muscat
Arrival to Muscat by your flight. Immigration and customs are quick and simple. On entering in arrival hall, you will be met by our driver and board your vehicle. Transfer by driver only to your hotel for overnight stay. Meet your Italian speaking guide at hotel lobby by 1400 hrs proceed your tour. Depart from your hotel on self-drive at 1500 hrs and proceed to The Royal Opera House which is supposed to be one of the finest opera house recently built.  Visit to Royal opera house is subject to their show and rehearsal timings (photo-stop).  Normally the visit is available upto 1000 hrs only every day and it will take approximately 30 minutes Proceed to old Muscat area. Have stop at for Muttrah Souq. Many people come to Mutrah Corniche just to visit the souq, which retains the chaotic interest of a traditional Arab market albeit housed under modern timber roofing. Shops selling Omani and Indian artefacts together with a few antiques jostle among more traditional textile, hardware and jewellery stores. The Souq is best enjoyed when you can take your time to take in all the sights and sounds. It is least crowded in the mornings and late afternoon and busiest in the evening hours after 6 pm. Even if you don’t buy anything, the souq is well worth a visit to see the lifestyle of a bygone time. Then leave for Bait Zubair Museum passing by the Diplomatic area. Bait Zubair Museum was initially founded as a house by a rich merchant, who had a hobby of collecting antiques and doing photography (visit hours between 0930 hrs – 1800 hrs). Later, he converted his house to a Museum in 1998 showcasing the culture and artefacts of Oman. Later drive towards Sidab enroute photo stop at the official Palace of late His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos. This Palace is flanked by two Portuguese fort Jalali and Mirani. This will be a photo stop only as visit to Palace and Fort is not

Day2: Muscat – Qurayyat – Wadi Arbiyeen – Bimmah sinkhole – Ras al jinz

Depart for your first visit to the discovery of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a splendid example of modern Islamic art, and of the Islamic center. (Conservative dress, covered from head to toe. Ladies have to cover their head with a scarf. Grand Mosque is open for the tourists from Saturday to Thursday from 08:00 hrs to 11:00 hrs). Proceed to coastal road, admiring the beauty of the Omani landscape. Arrival at the Wadi Arabyeen oasis, inhabited by Bedouin tribes, protected by a rocky wall and characterized by clear limpid water springs, which wind sinuously among the luxuriant palm groves. The itinerary continues with a visit to Bimah Sinkhole, a crater formed as a result of the dissolution of limestone, which collects crystal clear water where you can allow a break for relaxation and bath. (For ladies
wishing to swim in the Sinkhole, it is required to wear shorts below the knee and T-shirt, it is forbidden to wear the bikini / costume in areas frequented by Omani). Departure to Wadi Tiwi, where you will take a short walk immersed in a breath taking landscape, where you can photograph the rugged rocks, in contrast to the lush palms of dates and bananas. Later drive to Ras Al Jinz and check-in.

Day3: Ras Al Jinz – Sur – Wadi bani khalid – Wahiba Sands
Breakfast at hotel & checkout.
Proceed to visit the picturesque city of Sur, an ancient African port, where it is still active for the construction of the typical Omani craft, the dhows. You will visit a shipyard in operation. Continue towards one of the most striking scenarios of the sultanate: Wadi Bani Khalid. The indescribable landscape with vivid contrasts of color, arising from the harsh appearance of the rocks and the rich vegetation, which are reflected in the emerald waters. Time available for a swim in the wadi lagoons between waterfalls and natural pools. (For ladies wishing to swim in the Wadi, it is required to wear shorts below the knee and T-shirt, it is forbidden to wear the bikini / costume in areas frequented by Omani). Continue to the last leg of the day: the Wahiba Sands desert, the most exciting you can imagine. Immense golden dunes that stand out as far as the eye to go in 4X4 will be the background to the decline of the evening. After an exciting dune bushing we will stop on one of the highest dunes to admire the sunset. Check in at the tented camp.

Day4: Wahiba Sands – Ibra – Sinaw – Bahla – Jibreen – Nizwa

Check out & departure at 0800 hrs and from here, you continue and visit Ibra Wednesday Market takes place every Wednesday of the week in Wilayt Ibra in A’Sharqiyah North Governorate and is dedicated to women only. Every week, women head to this market to buy all they need. It is open from six in the morning until one in the afternoon. Later, you proceed towards from here it is a short distance to Sinaw. The visit to Sinaw Souq which is amongst one of the oldest preserved souqs in Oman and while the location of the souq is fairly new and the Sultanate has put a lot of money in renovating it, this souk has been around for a very long time. The Active souq is busiest on Thursday mornings when around 120 shops open for business. It is a real shopper’s haven because the souq sells practically everything. You will continue towards the complex of the fortified city of Bahla, among the wonders recognized by UNESCO, consisting of a wall of over 12 km. The remains of the ancient villages in mud are still visible. From here it is possible to admire one of the most suggestive panoramic points of the town. Proceed to the Jabrin Fort, the finest of Oman’s castle built in the late 17th Century, which became a seat of Omani learning. Then, drive to Nizwa

Day5: Nizwa – Al Hamra – Wadi Nakhr – Misfah Al Abriyyin – Bald Sayt – Jebel Shams – Muscat

At 0800 hrs, Nizwa Oman “One of the Oman Tourist attractions) – the ancient Capital of Oman. Nizwa is one of the oldest cities of the Sultanate and being the trade capital it is commonly known as the ‘Pearl of Islam’. Nizwa Fort, which was completed in the 1650s, is among Oman’s largest and oldest forts as well as one of the most visited national monuments. This historical edifice is hailed as a stunning example of ingenuity of Omani architecture and it is also a powerful reminder of the town’s invincibility through turbulent periods in Oman’s history. It took 12 years to build this magnificent military bastion and its sole purpose was to prevent marauders from looting Nizwas’ abundant natural wealth, as well as to protect its strategic location on the crossroads of vital caravan routes. The fort is characterized by its height, solid fortification and unique location in the middle of Nizwa town. Also not to be missed is Nizwa souq with its distinct Omani character, selling a wonderful array of silver jewellery, antiques, leather goods and household utensils.

Then head to Al Hamra another famous Oman attractions -400 years old town in the north eastern part of Oman see the Old Persian ruins at the old village of Ghul. In the Jebel Akhdar range Jebel Shams the highest peak offers a spectacular view. (It is advisable to wear light comfortable clothing and walking shoes). Proceed along Wadi Nakhr which is known as Grand Canyon of Oman now you have the chance to enjoy the Breath taking Views of the wadi. By the end of the Wadi, you will see a village famous for its colorful rugs made of goat hair with colored designs. You can now reach Jebel Shams, which is the highest peak in Oman at 3010 meters. The views offer spectacular views of Wadi Nakhr. Now Visit the local weaver and haggle for their waves. Stop at misfit al arbeiyeen. Then we proceed to Bald Sayt, is a stunning village in picturesque surroundings that should be part of anyone’s check-list of places to visit when coming to Oman. The walk to the ruined watchtower of the village is a must, as you have a fantastic view of the entire village with its traditional houses, plantations and of course the dense palm rooves with their vibrant colors in perfect contrast to the surrounding mountains. Late afternoon return back to Muscat.

Day6: Muscat/flight back home

Departure transfer to airport for flight back home or to beach hotel for extension stay
